Furman Women's Golf Earns NCAA Bid

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- On Monday, the NCAA women's golf committee announced the field for the 2001 NCAA championships slated for May 10-12.
The Lady Paladin golf team is heading to Corvallis, Ore., next week to compete in the West Regional hosted by Oregon State at Trysting Tree Golf Club. Furman has competed in the NCAA regionals for eight straight years, and it advanced to the National Championships seven times in the '90s.

Coach Mic Potter said: "We are happy to be going to Oregon State, and we intend on playing our best for a chance at the National Championships."

The Lady Paladins will have to finish in the top eight of 21 teams in the field in order to earn a spot at the Nationals, hosted by the University of Central Florida in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., on May 23-26.
