UTC's Hanner Sets Triple Jump Record

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.---A school record in the triple jump and three first-place finishes highlight the Chattanooga track team's performance Feb. 10 at the Middle Tennessee Invitational.

Tyleana Hanner broke her own mark of 39-11 in the triple jump and placed fourth with a record leap of 40-4 Hanner also finished second in the long jump at 19-5 and fourth in the high jump at 5-5.

John Baldwin and Shon Grice paced the men's team with first-place finishes. Baldwin ran a 1:55.06 to win the 800 meters, and Grice was clocked at 8:56.61 to win the 3,000.

Also earning a first-place finish was Haugen Oddbjorg in the women's 3,000. Oddbjorg, a native of Ski, Norway, and a member of the soccer team, was running in her first collegiate race.

The teams will take a week off before the Southern Conference Indoor Championships Feb. 23-24 at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn.
