Volleyball 11/6/2001 1:45:00 AM Southern Conference Volleyball Wrap-up for November 5 UNCG Volleyball Drops Record 26th Match of the SeasonLady Mocs take 3-0 victory for season sweep of the SpartansGREENSBORO, NC -- A 16-1 spurt to end game one sparked Chattanooga to a 3-0 (30-15, 30-22, 30-15) win over UNC Greensboro in Southern Conference volleyball action Monday night in Fleming Gym. The Spartans fell to 2-26 on the year, and 2-15 in the conference, while UTC improved to 16-12 and 8-10 in the SoCon. The 26th loss extends UNCG's record for most losses in a season in Division I play.The first game was tied at 14-14 before the Lady Mocs ran off seven straight points, and scored 16 of the last 17 points of the game for the 30-15 win. The second game was also tight at the start, tied at 11-11. But with UTC up by two at 14-12, the Lady Mocs ran off nine unanswered points for a 22-12 lead and they moved on to the 30-22 win. Chattanooga took care of things early in game three, racing out to an 11-1 lead on the way to the 30-15 victory.Dawn Bright (Jr./Aberdeen, NC) led the Spartans with eight kills and eight digs. Jamie Hedin (So./New Brighton, MN) posted six kills and nine digs. Juliet Pack (Fr./Hendersonville, NC) and Robyn Jameson (Sr./Centerville, OH) registered 15 and 11 assists, respectively.For Chattanooga, Tracie Grant tallied 15 kills, while Cheryl Theis posted 13 kills and seven digs. Kari Krouse recorded a match-high 13 digs, while Emily McGinnis added 25 assists.The Spartans will return to action Tuesday night against SoCon rival Davidson at 7 pm in Fleming Gym. Chattanoga next hosts the College of Charleston on November 9.
