VMI Soccer's Jonathan Rios Nammed To NSCAA Third Team All-South Atlantic Region

LEXINGTON, Va. - VMI junior midfielder Jonathan Rios (Fredericksburg, Va. / Courtland) was named to the third team NSCAA / Adidas All-South Atlantic Regional Soccer Team announced Wednesday.

Rios, who was named first team All-Southern Conference earlier this month, finished the 2001 season second in the SoCon and third in the South Atlantic region in assists with 11. That mark broke the VMI single-season school record, previously held by Trey Kirby in 1994. He currently is tied for
second all-time at VMI in career assists with 14.

Rios also finished the season ranked in the top ten in the SoCon in shots (46) and shots/game (2.56).

Rios is the first Keydet to make the squad since Rich Daughtridge in 1997.
