Wofford Men's Head Coach Richard Johnson:

"This is one of the youngest teams I've had in my 25 years of coaching. We only have four players who have played any appreciable minutes in college basketball. We have four freshmen we like very much and we'll need them to contribute immediately. However, freshmen are freshmen. The Southern Conference might be the strongest it's ever been. Losing an Ian Chadwick is tough and our guys will have to learn how to play without him rather than just counting on him to make something happen. We'll be a team that again relies on speed, quickness, and team defense. Mike Lenzly and Lee Nixon have proven to be capable scorers. Depth is a concern with just 12 players on the roster and a lot of youth in most areas."


Wofford Women's Head Coach David Graves:

"We're excited to have this many veterans (six seniors). We've never had a team with that much experience. It will be like we have extra coaches on the floor which will enable us to move along more quickly in practice. With five freshmen also on our team, having as many seniors as we do will help tremendously. It's great to have Jenny Nett back for a fifth year. She's in the best health she's ever been in at Wofford. She has a lot of confidence for this season and we have more help for her on the court than we've ever had. We're real excited about the upcoming season."
