Dixon Ties Division I Record

SPARTANBURG, SC - Wofford freshman volleyball player Erin Dixon (Clearwater, Fla./Countryside High School) tied an NCAA Division I record for service aces in a three-game match during Wofford's victory over Savannah State Sunday.

Dixon came up with 14 aces in the contest.

This mark ties Dixon with Duke's Janie Borcherding (vs. Mercer, Sept. 14, 1990) and South Florida's Belinda Spivey (vs. Temple, Nov. 8, 1986).

The record was confirmed Wednesday by the NCAA statistics department.

Dixon's performance also broke the Southern Conference record. The previous mark was ten, held by three different players. Wofford's 27 team aces in the match set a SoCon record as well, breaking the mark of 24 by Appalachian State against Chattanooga in 1989.
