UTC Track Competes At MTSU

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.---Ryan Kendall and Dwight Thomas highlighted the Chattanooga indoor track and field team's performance Jan. 20 at the Middle Tennessee State Invitational.

Kendall was clocked at 4:08.74 in the indoor mile to win the event. He also won the 800 meters in 1:54.46. Thomas, running in his first indoor meet for the Mocs, won the 3,000-meter run in 8:48.50. Thomas is a transfer from Samford.

UTC also earned third and fourth-place finishes in the mile. Aaron Prieur followed Kendall in third place in 4:11.78, and Curtis Gadula placed fourth in 4:15.33. Gadula also ran third in the 800 at 1:56.48.

Tyleana Hanner picked up the only Lady Mocs' first-place finish, winning the four jump with a distance of 18-11. She also placed second in the 200 with a time of 24.99.

Sprinter Marna Moore had a second-place finish in the 55 hurdles (8.42) and placed sixth in the 55 meters (7.64).

UTC finished second and third in the mile with Becky Slick running a second-place time of 5:17.88 followed by Amy Doolittle (5:19.23).
